Annapolis Police Chief Hails Gun Turn-In Program Success with Over 50 Weapons Collected

Yesterday, Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson, Captain Lamar Howard, and Lieutenant Kevin Krauss held a press conference to announce the program results held last weekend. Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell-Charles, chair of the Public Safety Committee, also spoke at the event, all offered praise to the community for the results.

But in spite of its unassuming facade, the long-standing dwelling holds a storied legacy as the Camp Parole Rosenwald School, one of nearly two dozen schools built for African American children in Anne Arundel County during segregation.

“[It’s] where the head and the heart built heroes,” Annapolis Alderman Rhonda Pindell Charles said Friday.
